Sometimes I'm the one who needs a time out

18 days on and 14lbs off!

cover1 (1)

So today was day 18 on Nutrisystem and I’m officially down 14.2 pounds. The weight loss slowed down as I expected it to so I’m not disappointed. I’m still really enjoying the food and the journey.

I know I have shared what the food is like, and the different types of foods, but I haven’t really shared what a typical day looks like for me as far food goes. Today I had:

Breakfast: Nutrisystem Double Chocolate Chip Muffin & Yopleit Whips Yogurt

Morning Snack :weight watchers jalapeno string cheese

Lunch: Nutrisystem Fudge Graham Crunch bar & 1 cup snow peas & 1/4 C of hummus

Afternoon Snack: Weight watchers jalapeno string cheese & 2 Tbs of wasabi Almonds

Dinner: Nutrisystem Chicken Parmesan & Salad with Fat Free French Dressing and 2 Tbs of Fat Free Feta

Evening Snack:  Nutrisystem Mini Chocolate chip cookies

w_500_r92-recumbent-bike-2013_325-300x300I average between 1100 and 1300 calories each day and never find myself hungry and am completely loving the food (Except for the lasagna!)  I have been seeing my personal trainer for 20-35 minutes a day, four days a week. Up to this point I haven’t been doing any cardio strictly weight lifting up until last night. Since the weight isn’t coming off quite as fast as I would like it to I’m going to start adding 30 minutes of cardio four or five days a week. Since I think the treadmill is super boring I plan on using the recumbent bike and either reading a book or netflixing (yep thats now a word)

If you hate working out as I used to I am confident that you can use Nutrisystem and still lose weight, however your weight loss may be a bit slower. I think just the change in diet may and portion control may help you.

Well the kiddo is calling and I suppose I can only ramble so long. Hope everyone has a lovely night!

Nutrisystem Day 14

nutrisystemOn day 14 and down 13.4 lbs. The sushi caused a one pound set back that took two days to come off but this morning I was more than happy to get on the scale and see that even though I had 4 captain and diet cokes last night at a hockey game that I managed to lose 1.6 lbs!

So now that I am two weeks into it I have tried a good selection of their food. The Delcious, the okay and the omg what in the hell is this.

The Lasagna falls into the what in the hell were they297x220LasagMeat thinking category. I LOVE lasagna, even like crappy frozen lasagna is good… but this is just bad. First let me say beans do not have any business on the same plate as lasagna. It wasn’t the vegetable lasagna I got but the meat one that had pinto beans in it. It had a thick brownish red sauce that was just unpleasant and it was over all the worst meal I have had since being on the plan. I can promise you that I will not be ordering it again next month.

297x220_TurkeyDressingA meal that I really enjoyed was the Turkey and Gravy for dinner. It tasted great my only complaint it it did not look ANYTHING like the picture. The turkey is sliced, but the stuffing is far from dry and fluffy. Its all in a little container, Turkey, Gravy and Stuffing. So everything is covered in gravy. Not a huge deal its going to all end up in the same place anyways but its almost impossible to lay out nicely on a plate like show. However I will be ordering this one again, its delicious!

297x220_FRZ_TurkeyPepperoniPizza

The Turkey and Sausage Pizza has been one of my favorites so far. It tastes like a Tombstone pizza. Its one of Nutrisystems frozen entrees and its yummers. It really took care of the craving that I had for pizza. Next time I might add some Jalapenos to it to add a little spice. I have added three of these pizzas to next months order. You can make it in the oven or in the microwave.

297x220_FrZ_HamAndCheeseOmeletMy favorite breakfast meal so far has been the Turkey Ham & Cheese omelet. This is another one of Nutrisystems frozen meals. Once you nuke it in the microwave the egg is still moist and everything is just awesome. Low in calories and totally fills you up! Kind of sad I only ordered one for this month, however I really didn’t have high hopes for it but it really exceeded my standards.297x220ChickenPenneAlfredo

The Chicken Alfredo is another meal that should be put on the WTF were they thinking list. The Alfredo really has zero flavor and the noodles are slimy. I ended up soaking mine in hot sauce in order to choke this one down. I have another one in the cupboard waiting for me and I have yet to be brave enough to put myself through it again. It was just a slimy mess. Ew…

There are a few downs but lots of ups on the nutrisystem. I’m totally seeing results, my jeans are fitting better, I wore a vest the other day that  I couldn’t zip up before, and my wedding ring is actually loose!

Starting on the plan I was at 247 lbs, this morning I’m at 233.6 lbs.  My short term goal is to get under 200 lbs, my long term goal is to get to 145 lbs. I know I normally blog about product reviews and such but I will be honest, as much as I love the free loot but I’m getting a bit burnt out on it. SO you may see my blog being more about my journey as well as about stuff I’m passionate about such as crafting and parenting. I’m sure I may lose some readers but hopefully I gain some along the way and inspire at least one person to jump on and start there own journey to a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Sushi Slip Up?

sushiSo a week and a half in on my Nutrisystem journey and I’m down 13 pounds. For the first time in a week and a half I was in a situation that required to eat out. Scary huh? I can’t even begin to explain how much anxiety this gave me.

Last month I got really awesome numbers at work and my boss took me out for sushi today over lunch. Usually my lunch break is going to see my personal trainer for 35 minutes and getting my ass handed to me. Today it involved two spicy tuna rolls, a salad and miso soup.

I’m sure I could have made much worse choices but I’m still feeling super guilty for going off track, even though Nutrisystem says you can go out to eat once a week. I got back to work and went to the website and chatted with a Nutrisystem counselor about it. She told me that she thought I made good decisions when I went out to eat and that I should just continue my day as I normally would by having my second snack, dinner and final snack of the day. Even though she told me it was alright, I cant help but dread that the scale is going to disagree tomorrow.

I must say I LOVE that Nutrisystem offers online counselors to help you out when you have questions, concerns or just straight up anxiety about funking up And this is all included in the price of Nutrisystem. I have never been on another diet plan that offers that feature.

Well So long and thanks for all the fish, I will check in with you soon and let you know how my sushi affected my journey.

Week one.. done!

fitness-inspirationImagine what 12 lbs of hamburger looks like. Imagine what a large bag of potatoes feels like. Now listen up  when I say I lost 11.8 lbs with my first week of nurtisysem.

I know I have done A LOT of reviews that I have gotten paid for or the product for free, but I can promise you that I’m reviewing this 100% on my own and I’m paying for it (ask the husband)

With the first week down I am already feeling like I am getting my self control and confidence back.  I look at pictures like the one that I have posted here and I can not wait to get that face back or having collar bones… 1382801_10202805887381426_1099592513_noh how I miss those!

I was on Nutrisystem a few years ago in 2009 I believe and hated the food. In fact most of it ended up in the garbage. They have added frozen food and must have got a new chef because the food is now delicious!

Today for lunch I had a Pepperoni Pizza roll type thing. I think it is there version of a pizza pocket (I hate those things) and it was delicious and so filling!

For breakfast I had a Nutrisystem chocolate doughnut. Now it was not rock my socks off amazing like a doughnut from doughnut land.. but it totally hit the spot. The chocolate frosting was like the chocolate that it on those little chocolate covered doughnuts that come in the plastic wrappers. The cake part itself was not super sweet. It wasn’t bad by any means but it wasn’t the doughnut that caused me to gain 100 lbs of extra weight. I will end up adding it to my next order.

I’m sure week two is going to slow down on pounds lost, however every ounce counts, they add up… well here is to a new week!

A Healthy Little rant.

Cookie-Monster-OrangesMe want cookies! Thank God Nutrisystem has these delicious white chocolate chip cookies for a snack option. They are seriously delicious and I get a decent size portion of them.

I’m down another .8 and am starting to notice small changes such as wedding ring is lose and my jeans keep slipping down. Now if only I could get rid of this damn double chin! However I’m sure that will happen at the 20 lb mark or so.

I’ve been going to see a personal trainer every day. Her name is Lindsey and she truly kicks ass. She is beautiful, fit and one of the most down to earth people I have ever met, she truly inspires me to workout my hardest.  I’m not sure how much a personal trainer normally costs but I’m sure I’m getting a hell of a deal since its included in my Gym membership of $9 a month through work.

I’m not even going to lie. I hate cardio like I hate spiders. The treadmill and I dislike one another greatly.  I have been doing a body building type circuit that involves targeting certain muscle groups and cashing them out. I also have been doing a ton of planks, squats, lunges and working a bunch with the kettle bells and battle ropes.  kettlebells1.jpgI take the weekends off from working out and workout every week day over my lunch break. Luckily my workout only takes up about thirty to fourty minutes of my lunch break and I still have time to eat my lunch.

The Frozen portion of my Nutrisystem was delivered today. I’m pretty excited! I ordered a bunch of pizza’s,  hamburger and of course some icecream as well as a ton of other meals.

Also thanks for the shout out of support. I cant tell you how much I appreciate it!
